Why do I need a Shelton State ID # to take the ACCUPLACER Placement exam?
The SSCC ID Number is a unique identifier and is used to match your scores with your record. This will allow you to register for classes without error by meeting pre-requisites. If you were to test without an SSCC ID#, your scores would only be in the ACCUPLACER database where it would not be applicable to your application or registration. To not delay your registration, you need to make sure that you use the correct SSCC ID Number at the time of testing. Using other numbers will not match your scores to your application and record and can create problems during registration.
You will need to apply for admission to the College prior to testing. After applying for admission, you will receive your SSCC ID#. The SSCC ID Number is typically generated 24-48 hours after you've applied to the college. A SSCC ID Number is a 9-digit number, beginning with the letter A.
