Choosing an ALLOTTED TIME

How to Choose the Allotted Time for a quiz/test:

After the amount of time is selected, the student will be able to choose a date.  Only the dates/days of the week which correspond to the amount of time will be available as options. 

Select the allotted testing block time that best meets the class requirement: 

• 1 Hour Exam Time Block, MTWRF

  • Only choose the 1 hour time block for a quiz or other short quiz/test that would 1 hour OR LESS to complete with the double time accommodation.

• 2 Hour Time Exam Block, MWF only

  • On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, since most classes are 50 minutes long, we have time blocks of 2 hours length. 

  • If the rest of the class receives 50 minutes for a quiz/test, an OEA student’s accommodated time would be 1 hour and 40 minutes.

• 3 Hour Exam Time Block, TR only

  • On Tuesdays and Thursdays, since most classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes long, we have time blocks of 3 hours length.  

  • If the rest of the class receives 1 hour and 15 minutes for a quiz/test,, an OEA student’s accommodated time would be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

• 4 Hour Exam Time Block MWF or TH

  • We have added an option for a 4-hour reservation each day of the week, please choose accordingly.

  • The latest time which a student can begin a 4-hour time block will be 2pm, to honor the OEA Testing Center hours of operation. 

After the amount of time is selected, the student will be able to choose a date.  Only the dates/days of the week which correspond to the allotted amount of time chosen will be available as options. 

NOTE: If the exam duration with double time is longer than 4 hours, the student will need to reserve a second session immediately following the first one in order to ensure that the seat is reserved for the entirety of the test time with accommodations.

How to Choose the Allotted Time for a Final Exam

Please ensure you are choosing the correct date. You may need to correspond with your instructor BEFORE you submit this request. Only the dates which correspond to the Registrar's Final Exam Schedule will be available as options. 

Select the allotted testing block time that best meets the class requirement: 

• 6 Hour Final Exam 
  • Choose this option if your class will be given the full 3 hour long final exam block 'in class'.
• 4 Hour Final Exam
  • Choose this option if your class will be given 2 hours or less for the final exam.

After the amount of time is selected, you will be able to choose a date. 

PLEASE NOTE: Do not choose your time based off of how long you think you might need to complete the exam. Only base your selection on double the amount of time your class will be given. Students will be asked to leave once their reservation time has ended.
